Welcome to a Hollywood deconstructed. SURFACE TO AIR presents its 3rd publication, FLIP THE SCRIPT, recognizing the intrinsic effect that the cinema has had on the art world. SURFACE TO AIR has comissioned 50 artists to recreate, reinterpret, reinvent, reshape, remix a poster for a film of their choosing. The film as a medium culls from all the traditional artistic elements- be it in painting, music and sound, graphics, photography, writing, sculpture, and more. This influence is reflected in the subject the artists have chosen to create or recreate for this project.

Coming from various artistic and cultural backgrounds, the idea is to present the audience with a feel for the diverse impact that film has had on artists after almost a century of the cinematic experience. The book also aims to present their work in a format which reflects the grandiose influence and scope of cinema, as well as its tradition of posters.

All prints will be housed within a limited-edition oversized book bearing the name, FLIP THE SCRIPT.
